Chapter 62
Chapter 62
Caught between one woman who was Brian’s current flame and another, a relic of a past love. Reid
found himself ensnared in a tricky dilemma of how to navigate the sensitive situation.
Brian furrowed his brow slightly, “She’s hurt?”
“They said she fell to the ground, but a few seconds later, she picked herself up and drove off.”
Natalie had to confront Gracia.
Reid was silent for a moment before blurting out, “Found them! They’re over at Tranquil Pathway!
Gracia’s there too!”
As Brian’s car just happened to pass nearby Tranquil Pathway, he glanced over in that direction,
noticing the traffic was bumper–to–bumper.
A bystander not too far away stood on higher ground, live streaming. “Check this out, folks, broad
daylight and there’s a murder going on in the middle of downtown…”
Brian deepened his frown and quickly opened a live stream on his laptop. Natalie, still in her
promotional outfit, was smashing the limited edition Ferrari gifted to Gracia by the Howard family, with
Gracia tied up and thrown into the trunk, her face the picture of terror.
After watching for a moment and digesting the situation, Brian whispered into the phone, “Get traffic
control over there to clear the streets, and immediately pull all live streams and news reports from the
internet.” This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
“What about Gracia? Natalie’s hands–on approach…”
“Don’t worry about it. Natalie knows what she’s doing.” Brian cut him off, his tone dismissive.
“Understood.”
By the time the fire trucks arrived, Gracia’s car was ablaze at risk of exploding at any moment.
There was no need for traffic control. The sidewalk had already emptied faster than a diner at closing
time, not a soul in sight.
Natalie shoved Gracia’s legs into the trunk and arched an eyebrow menacingly, “The show’s just
starting.”
With that, she slammed the trunk shut, spun the car around with a screech, and headed towards the
congested evening rush hour traffic.
Exiting Tranquil Pathway, a silent Maybach followed stealthily behind her.
Two hours later, in front of the Wright family’s residence, Natalie brought her car to an abrupt halt.
The Wright family having been informed by Gracia’s agent were anxiously waiting inside. At the sight of
arriving Natalie, Lydia rushed out, “What have you done to Gracia? Where is she?!”
From the trunk came Gracia’s faint cries for help. As Lydia helped Gracia out, her legs buckled. and
she collapsed on the road, retching violently. The rapid turns Natalie had taken had Gracia. feeling like
her insides were rearranged and her brain about to burst.
Samuel emerged to witness the scene, boiling with rage, and approached Natalie, hand raised to
strike.
His hand never landed. Natalie caught his wrist and shoved him back several steps.
Samuel stumbled before regaining his balance, utterly humiliated.
“Natalie, you dare hit me?!” He glared at her, incredulity in his tone.
“Sorry, but I’m not the Natalie of the past,” she replied coolly, a sardonic smile playing at her lips.
Ever since Samuel discovered that she’d lost her child after nine months, he’d discarded Natalie
abroad without a second thought. That was the moment the bond of their family became irreparably
broken.
“You speak to me of family and decency? It’s a joke,” Natalie said.
“The only reason I haven’t completely turned my back on you all is out of respect for Grandpa.”
With each word Natalie uttered, Samuel darkened his face further.
“You’re turning against your family!” Samuel pointed at her, his voice grave, “Take Natalie and lock her
in the attic!”
He refused to believe he couldn’t discipline his daughter.
“Nobody dares!” Suddenly, a hoarse and fierce shout came from behind.
The Wright family’s butler supported Matthew as he staggered out of the house.
