Chapter 51 Who Are You Thinking about
Chapter 51 Who Are You Thinking about
Claudia sat alone on the floating French windowsill of the empty and silent room, looking at the distant
scenery.
It was gloomy outside and was going to rain.
The last time she saw her mother was when she was three-month pregnant. Now it had been more
than one hundred days since she gave birth to Conrad, but she did not see her mother again...
Claudia was more and more missing her mother and became upset.
When the housekeeper went upstairs to deliver the fruit, he saw Claudia sitting quietly alone and lost in
thought, so he sighed, went over and said, “Ma’am, is something bothering you?”
Claudia was so immersed in her own thoughts that she did not notice the housekeeper coming close.
He suddenly spoke up and startled her.
The housekeeper hurriedly apologized, “Sorry, Ma'am. I'm sorry to disturb you!”
She shook her head and got up in a panic, but left the photo in her arms on the ground.
It was a photo of her childhood. Her mother held her, and she put her arms around her mother’s neck
with a sweet smile.
The housekeeper saw it at once and leaned down to pick it up for her, handing it to Claudia. He said,
“Ma’am, you’re thinking about Mrs. Evans. Right? You can go back to visit her any time!”
After a pause, the housekeeper added, “Don't worry about Conrad. We'll take good care of him.”
Claudia saw that the housekeeper looked at her sincerely, without the any mockery and sarcasm. His
remarks were so warm and soft as if offering her fuel in snowy weather.
She bowed her head and took the photo.
What he said was reasonable. Claudia repeatedly and seriously thought about it, and could not hold
back the thoughts. So she took her coat and bag and went out.
The housekeeper and housekeeper would take good care of Conrad. It was OK to go out for just a day.
When she arrived at the Evans family, the entrance door was ajar, and the nanny was not there.
The empty house was quite quiet.
She stepped inside and heard someone talking upstairs in the study. It was a man's voice.
“Wow! I didn’t see this coming! Mrs. Crawford!”
She heard a sharp female voice from the distance. The obvious satiric tone intruded into her eardrums.
Amber came down from upstairs and saw her just in time.
“What brings you here, Mrs. Crawford? You're so delicate and shouldn’t come to our small house. Be
careful. We can't afford to take responsibility if you are injured here!”
Amber sneered sarcastically, and her words were not polite.
Claudia did not look at her directly and simply gestured, “Where's Aunt Blair? I would like to ask her
something.”
They are sisters who grew up together, so Amber knew sign language from a very young age.
She grunted coldly and then added, “What are you looking for my mom for? If you have something to
say, just talk to me!”
Claudia ignored her and sat down on the sofa. Obviously, she would not leave until Blair came.
Seeing that, Amber thought of the 'CCM project' that Uncle Raba had mentioned before. She rolled her
eyes and subconsciously shouted towards the room upstairs, “Mom! Someone is looking for you!”
Blair was in an upstairs room and heard that.
She came out of her room with quick steps, and as she went downstairs, she said, “Who?”
Just as she asked, she saw Claudia sitting on the sofa. Blair and Amber looked at and soon
understood each other.
Blair slowed her pace and walked to the sofa. She sat down and said, “Hello, Claudia. What can I do
for you?”
Claudia nodded. Before she expressed her intention, Blair smiled and went forward to hold Claudia's
hand, “I know you are a good girl. You always care about our family!”
“Besides, the Evans family is also your mother's family. Only when the Evans family is strong and
prosperous can you have a better life in the Crawford family.”
Blair smiled gently and held her hand with a benign expression as if she were the biological mother of
Claudia.
“You can ask Ben to give the CCM project to our company. It won't affect the Crawford Group, will it?” All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Blair added with a kind smile as if the CCM project contract had been awarded to them.
What she said made Claudia quite embarrassed.
She waited for a long time and finally Blair finished talking. She got a chance to explain and said in sign
language, “Aunt Blair, I'm not here to talk about the CCM project. I won’t meddle in affairs of Ben’s
company. If the Evans Group is really interested, Uncle Raba could go to the company and talk to him!”
Claudia declined her politely, but Blair read her sign language and smiled with disdain. She changed
her attitude immediately, “You won’t meddle? You are Mrs. Crawford, aren’t you? Aren't you Ben's
wife? Since you are the hostess of the Crawford family, why are you hiding behind when our family
needs your help?”
Amber, who was sitting on one side of the sofa, also echoed and said with sarcasm, “That's right! You
are so ungrateful and don’t help your own family members. What’s the matter with you?”
Blair was angrier and indignantly rebuked, “Since you're not talking about the project, what are you
doing here?”
Claudia frowned helplessly and had to say in sign language, “I would like to ask aunt Blair if I can see
my mother...”
Blair already knew what she wanted before she asked.
So, Claudia did not finish her gesture and Blair interrupted her, “It’s impossible! Don't even think about
it! You are so ungrateful and never care about our family, and you still want to see your mother?”
After a pause, she cursed, “If your mother hadn't been mentally ill, she’ll be ashamed of you!”
“Exactly! How can you do that? Do you have nothing to do with our Evans family? If you think so, then
sign a renunciation of your inheritance!” Amber added.
Hearing that, Blair remembered the inheritance and said, “Yes, sign it and you’ll have nothing to do with
the Evans family. Then I’ll send your crazy mother to you. OK?”
Claudia was slightly stunned. She looked at Blair and Amber in surprise.
As long as her mother was safe, she would give up the inheritance of the Evans family. She thought it
was a good idea.
However, if she gave up the inheritance, they would change the Evans Group to the Raba Group. The
murder of his father would become a permanent unsolved case, and the evil couple’s rascality would
never be uncovered...
She was somewhat conflicted mentally, not knowing what to do for a while.
Blair said, “Think about it! It costs a lot of money to support your crazy mom in the sanatorium. Sign it
and from now on, your mother and you will have nothing more to do with us.”
Claudia looked at her with complicated expressions.
And at this time, the door of the upstairs study was pushed open, and Theodore sent Mr. Hunt
downstairs.
The advertising company of Mr. Hunt was famous all over the country, and had cooperated with many
companies. Theodore invited Mr. Hunt to discuss about the details at home because he also wanted to
get the CCM project.
As the slightly fat man stepped downstairs, Blair greeted him politely. But the man was staring at
Claudia with complex expressions.
Hunt came closer, stopped, and asked, “This is...”
