CHAPTER 161
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 31
Let’s take a trip down to our beloved Pack. It’s been a minute, hasn’t it?
Darius’s POV
“Daddy, you know this plan of yours is all wrong. We’re supposed to be planning our next trip to town. Florida won’t wait for us. My daughter, Layla grumbled repeatedly from behind me. I’d learned a lot of things ever since I had my twins but I never learned just how to be patient enough for my daughter. She was just too much sometimes.
“I told you that this trip is important,” I answered, almost growling.
“What trip is more important than our trip? It’s our time of the year, Daddy. This weekend is supposed to be the best day of ray life,”
I groaned loudly. She never knew how to take no for an answer or maybe it was just because I never told her no.
“When I get back, we’ll go on this ‘important trip together. How about this?”
She gave her infamous side–eye. “Why are you trying to sound sarcastic? That’s so not you,”
I closed my eyes and almost yelled at myself. “Listen, when I say this trip is important, it’s really important,”
“Tell us then, what’s it all about? We’re curious,” she pressed further, pointing at herself and her twin brother, Liam. Liam was silently sitting on one of the couches in my office. He hadn’t said a word since they both walked in.
‘Don’t include me in your stupidity, Layla, you’re the only one curious about the trip. I’m not,
He answered.
She suddenly spanked the back of his head and rolled her eyes.
“Shut up or I’ll shut you up, she threatened.
I shook my head. I wasn’t ready for the unstoppable drama that would unfold after that so I turned my back to them. I don’t know what Liam said to her but she suddenly screamed.
“What?” I asked in a loud voice.
“NOTHING! She yelled back.
Dear heavens! Give me strength.
I tried to arrange some things I would need on this trip while I waited for Angela to join me so we could leave.
You both are staying with your grandma till we get back and don’t go stressing her out, understood?” I said firmly. They knew that tone too well. I was done with being patient with them for the day.
“Yes, dad‘
“Yes, Alpha, my son answered instead and I smirked proudly.
“Am I in charge of the pack while you’re not around?” He suddenly asked.
I shook my head. “It isn’t yet time, Tiger. Take it easy. No pressure, alright?”
He reluctantly nodded.
“You can work with Charles and Azalea while I’m away but it shouldn’t be more than that,”
I asked, and he smiled brightly, agreeing with me.
“So, what would you bring back from this trip?” My daughter asked and I shook my head in disbelief in anticipation of what she would say next. “Bags, designer shoes, food, lots of food,” she said the last part with excitement.
11:04 AM
“Something better,” I answered.
She grinned widely. “Really, Daddy?”
“Yes, miss,” I answered.
Ooh! The look on her face when I returned and she realized I wasn’t with any of those things she mentioned but something
better.
Reina!
I would be back with our Reina. Angela and I had agreed not to tell them about it yet since we wanted it to be a surprise for the two of them. Layla might be clueless but with the way Liam acted sometimes, I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew.
“One, two, three…”
Liam started counting. I turned to him and asked. “What’s that?”
“Someone is coming in three, two, one,” A knock resounded on the door immediately. “Voila! and he’s here,”
He stood up, grabbed his sister by the arm and pulled her with him out of the room while she fought him tooth and nail, screaming and scratching at his face like a cat.
He didn’t stop or budge until they were at the door.
“Hi, Uncle Mason,”
Liam waved slightly at Mason.
“Hi, Layla and Liam, how are you guys doing?”
Neither of the two of them answered Mason. He kept staring at them till they were out of sight.
I was perplexed and surprised at the same time. How did Liam know that Mason was on his way? And why was Mason here impromptu?
“Those two might hate me,” Mason suddenly said. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
I laughed. “I don’t think so. They love their uncle so much,”
He shrugged. That meant he didn’t believe me.
“Are you going somewhere?” He asked.
I nodded. “What’s with the surprise visit?” I asked him.
“Something happened a few days ago. I should’ve called but I didn’t want to make Angela panic or give you a bad message. I wanted to confirm first but then, I realized confirmation might take too long, so I decided to come here and tell you,”
He sounded serious.
“About what?”
“I think I saw Reina,”
I dropped the ball pen into the small bag and stared at my brother.
“Where?” I asked.
“In my dreams. I was doing something that I can’t tell you about but this person suddenly invaded. She pushed through the barrier that I’d built and it was shocking because it never happened before,”
“You saw her face?”
I asked him.
He nodded. “I did and from her look, I’m sure she’s Reina,” he answered.
11:04 AM
“Okay! Have you unpacked?”
“No,” he answered with curiousity.
“Good! Pick up your bags again. We’re going somewhere,”
“Where?”
“To a Rogue Pack,”
“For what reason? You know how the werewolf world frowns at rogue…”
“To get Reina,”
I interrupted him. He stopped talking and stared at me.
“WHAT!” He yelled.
I laughed. “I’ll tell you everything on the way” I assured him as I tapped his shoulder.
We both walked out of the office together. Angela was also ready to leave but she was busy leaving instructions for Liam and Layla.
Our son was listening diligently while Layla linked her hand with Angela’s and kept trying to beg her not to go with me.
Finally, we were able to get rid of her after much persuasion and promises. We made sure to drop them off at Angela’s mom’s place.
Charles and Azalea saw us off to the borders before they turned back.
After we got to the Rogue Pack, we were welcomed by their Alpha, Rowan, who looked somehow displeased to see us. Well, his father, the werewolf king had invited us to his pack and we didn’t have a choice but to be here.
We soon met with the werewolf King who repeated some of the things he mentioned on the phone before he introduced us to a girl called Ella. After talking to Ella, we realized she wasn’t who we were looking for. Although disappointed, we kept our hopes high.
“Is that her, Mason?” I asked just as the girl named Harriette walked into the room. I only asked because I wanted to make sure I didn’t make a mistake. She was Reina. She didn’t change that much. She was still my Ree. My princess.
“That’s her. That’s our Reina,”
Angela walked out of the bathroom to see her daughter. She took in a deep breath and immediately, I held her hand. “Finally!” She mumbled.
