Chapter 246
Felicity hadn't set foot in his study for a long time.
She didn't want to get involved with this man, didn't want her life to revolve around him. But now, she had walked in.
Wyatt was seated at his desk.
Felicity stood nearby, refilling his coffee. Wyatt glanced at her before picking up the cup.
She had always known his preferences well. Even the coffee she brewed was just right.
But it had been a long time since she'd paid him any attention.
Standing beside him, Felicity explained, "I don't like him anymore. It's been so many years, and I have no feelings for him at all. Just like you said, I could never like a man who abandoned me and the child." Wyatt said nothing.
Felicity took a deep breath and added, "What you said earlier surprised me. I always thought you didn't like Aubrey. I was worried you'd resent him since he's not your biological child. But I was touched after hearing your words." Wyatt hadn't referred to Aubrey as someone else's child. He hadn't treated Aubrey as an outsider.
Instead, he had genuinely considered Aubrey's future and well-being. As a mother, she was deeply moved.
Wyatt looked at Felicity and said, "Leave."
"What about the divorce?" Felicity asked, looking at him.
Wyatt raised his head, his gaze cold. "If you want, I'll have someone handle it right now."
Felicity replied, "I don't want that. I don't want a divorce."
"Didn't you want it? What, did you suddenly change your mind?" Her refusal to divorce surprised Wyatt.
He had genuinely thought she was foolish enough to leave him and go back to that ex.
Felicity looked at him and said, "I just think being Mrs. Hawthorne is quite useful."
Wyatt glanced at her, wanting to say something but holding back
She seemed so calm now, no longer the person she used to be.
As Felicity was about to leave, she paused, looking at him. "By the way, how have things been between you and Lysander lately?" Wyatt replied, "Fine."
"Fine?" Felicity gave him a once-over. "And the matter with Sully? How did that go?"
Wyatt looked up at her.
From his reaction, Felicity immediately understood. It seemed Wyatt had called Lysander over last time but hadn't asked anything.
Felicity said, "I think you should communicate more with Lysander sometimes. You're father and son. There's no need for formalities."

Wyatt didn't respond. She wondered if he was listening.
In the end, Felicity left the room.

Lysander hung up the phone with Wyatt and returned to his room.
He saw Elara had just finished her shower and was sitting at her computer. Resting her chin on her hand, she stared at the screen, lost in thought. Lysander walked over and stood by the desk, looking at her. "No tired yet?" Elara looked up at him. "You go to bed first."
"Why? Is something bothering you today?"
"I was just bored and happened to watch the news."
Lysander moved closer, sitting beside her and studying her expression.
He noticed Elara seemed different tonight.
His gaze shifted to the screen and saw she was reading news about the Linde Group.
The Linde Group had always been known for its efficiency. Their deliveries were the fastest and most reliable. Many companies just dropped parcels at a pickup station, but they still insisted on delivering to customers' doors. However, the news now reported complaints about their harsh treatment of delivery workers.
Lysander remarked, "You seem quite interested in their family's affairs."
Elara heard him and turned her laptop to show him the screen.
"You're usually busy and don't pay attention to this stuff. The Linde Group is currently being managed by Edith. She's Asher's mother. Ever since she took over, the company has been plagued with problems."
She added, "It's constantly trending for all the wrong reasons. Doesn't that seem a bit too coincidental? Also, look at this. This platform is collaborating with Asher's team."
"You think this is connected to Asher?" Lysander asked.
Elara replied, "Seems like it. When he was managing The Linde Group, things were running smoothly. After Andrei passed away, Asher managed the company for a while before his mother took over."
She continued, "Ever since Edith took charge, it's been one issue after another. Doesn't that strike you as odd?"This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Lysander studied her quietly.
Noticing his gaze, Elara explained, "I'm just browsing out of boredom."
Before Elara traveled back in time, the Kensington family business had been the same.
She wasn't capable of taking over, so Asher stepped in to help her. Later, the company became his.
Now it seemed he was using the same tactics against his mother.

When Lysander heard her words, he leaned over. "If you're bored, look at me! I'm right in front of you." As he spoke, his arm slipped around her waist.
Elara looked at him and laughed.
"What are you laughing at?" Lysander asked.
Elara said, "Asher is acting like this, and you don't have anything to say about it?"
"If you want, I can make his company disappear from the world entirely."
"That won't be necessary."
Elara's tone was casual. Still, she was a little shocked.
She wrapped her arms around Lysander and said, "People like him will dig their own graves. There's no need to bother with him."
Thinking of what Crispin had said, Elara was eager to see the outcome for Asher.

In the afternoon, Elara returned home from work to find Felicity there.
She was busy cooking something delicious in the kitchen.
Violet and Dana were also there.
Dana hadn't been around since her last visit, and Elara wondered what brought her back today.
Felicity looked at Elara and said, "I made something tasty for you!"
Elara said, "Why are you here?"
Felicity replied, "I'll be staying in Starfield City for a while. So, I thought I'd visit you and Lysander."
"You're not upset with Wyatt anymore?" Elara asked.
Felicity admitted. "He's a good man. I've adjusted my mindset and stopped obsessing over things."
Earlier that day, she had gone to Aubrey's office to talk to him and had also warned that man to stay away from Aubrey.
Elara smiled at Felicity.
Felicity asked, "What's so funny?"
Elara replied, "This is nice." She recalled when Lysander had said that Felicity and Wyatt wouldn't get divorced. He'd been right. Felicity asked, "Will Lysander be home tonight?"
Elara asked, "Looking for him?"
Felicity admitted openly. "You caught me. By the way, you haven't been in touch with Sully, have you?"
Elara smiled slightly and said, "If that's what you're worried about, talk to Wyatt. There's no need to stress."
"That's good to hear," Felicity said, reassured by Elara's firm stance. She understood Elara and Lysander were clear about their position.

When Lysander returned, Dana had just left.
Violet stood at the door, having just seen her friend off.
As Lysander stepped out of the car, he glanced at Violet. "Why do you keep bringing people over to the house?"
"Come on, she's a nice person! She's nothing like her brother," Violet defended.
"Do you really understand her family's situation?"
"You can't judge her based on her brother! I think she's adorable
Not interested in arguing, Lysander said, "I've already spoken to Uncle Steven. Someone will pick you up tomorrow and take you back to Brookfield."
Violet's eyes widened at the news, and she quickly followed Lysander inside. "Why? If I go back, Dad won't let me come here again! How come everyone else gets to stay, but I don't?"
