Chapter 247
Lysander said, "You've been here long enough."
"Fine, fine!" Violet retorted, "You stayed at my house for ages, and I never said anything. I've only been here a few days, and you're already tired of me?"
With that, Violet stormed into the house, visibly upset.
Lysander watched her retreat, frowning.
Elara sat on the sofa. She noticed Violet come in. She greeted her, but Violet ignored it, heading straight upstairs.
Moments later, Lysander walked in.
From the scene, Elara could easily tell he had upset Violet again.
She found it amusing. Lysander rarely angered anyone, yet he and Violet seemed to clash constantly.
Sometimes, Elara even suspected Lysander did it on purpose just to tease Violet.
"What did you do to upset her this time?" Elara asked.
Lysander removed his camouflage jacket and replied, "Uncle Steven's coming tomorrow to take her back to Brookfield. She's not happy about it and said I don't want her around."
Elara commented, "She's been doing fine here. Why not let her stay a bit longer? She's not a kid anymore, so what's the rush to send her back to Brookfield?"
Lysander's gaze shifted to Elara. "She's been spending too much time with Dana. I brought it up, and she insisted Dana was a good person. I don't want her to be taken advantage of." Lysander worried that Asher might try to exploit the situation once he found out.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Elara said, "You've got a point!"
Lysander had already warned Violet about Dana the last time she came over. Yet, Violet had brought Dana back again.
Lysander remarked, "You've been spoiling her while she's been staying here. That's why she doesn't want to leave." "How am I spoiling her?" Elara asked.
Lysander pointed out. "Buying her whatever she asks for. She's still got a childlike mindset. You can't keep indulging her."
Elara smirked. "Oh, so why do you buy me whatever I want?"
Lysander froze at her question. He avoided her gaze as he sat down beside her without answering.
"I'm waiting for your answer," Elara pressed.
"You're my wife. That's different," he said. His wife deserved to be pampered.
"Well, I've got a question for you," Elara said, leaning in and hugging him as he sat.
Lysander tried to push her away. "I haven't showered yet. I'm all sweaty."
"That's fine. I'll shower with you," she teased."

Her words made him pause, his eyes narrowing with interest. "O?"
Elara laughed at his

"So, what's your question?" he asked.
"If there are eight cupcake
and two kids, how many can I eat?"
Lysander blinked, batlled. "What
of question is that?"
"Answer me! How many?"
"You can eat eight. Never mind the two kids."
After a pause, Lysander said, "Alright, go shower!" He scooped her up effortlessly, carrying her upstairs.
While Lysander showered, Elara filled him in on Felicity's visit.
"She said she's going to help us with the wedding arrangements," Elara mentioned.
Felicity had been uninvolved for a while due to health issues, and with everyone else busy, nothing had progressed.
Now that she was offering to help, Elara saw no reason to refuse.
When Lysander came out from the bathroom, freshly dressed, he said, "So, when are we having two kids?"
Elara looked at him, his hair still damp from the shower. She grabbed a towel and began drying it for him. "Who said anything about having two kids?" "Didn't you mention two kids downstairs just now?"
"I was just kidding."
"I don't care, I took it seriously!"

The next morning, Steven arrived.
Violet sat beside him, glaring at Lysander as he descended the stairs, already dressed for the day.
Turning to her father, Violet complained, "Dad, Lysander is bullying me!"
"How is he bullying you?" Steven asked.
"He doesn't let me go out at night, drags me out of bed in the morning to exercise, and won't let me hang out with my friend. He says my friend is a bad influence." "What kind of friend?" Steven inquired curiously.
"Asher's sister. I only brought her here to hang out, and he freaked out about it. Then he called you to come get me," Violet explained, sulking.
Steven glanced at his daughter. "Good thing you're my biological child. Otherwise, you'd have been kicked out already!" He understood the tension between Lysander and Asher. It wasn't a friendly relationship. "You're not even on my side," Violet said, looking at her father with indignation. "I was so upset last night that I almost ran away!"
Lysander raised an eyebrow "I heard you packed your things and tried to leave but were stopped by the security guard. 81%0
Violet's face turned red. She didn't expect Lysander to know. She thought everyone had been asleep and unaware of her attempt.
She really had packed up to leave, intending to give Lysander a piece of her mind.
Steven turned to Violet, astonished. "You actually thought about running away?"
"Only because Lysander keeps picking on me!" she retorted.
"I'll deal with you when we get home," Steven said, shaking his head. He didn't rush to leave.
Elara came downstairs much later, still half-asleep.
Noticing Steven's presence, she greeted him, "Good morning, Steven."
He said, "I was just talking to Lysander. This weekend, we'll head to your father's house for dinner and discuss the wedding plans. Does that work for you? Will your dad be available?" "That sounds great!" Elara replied cheerfully.
Steven said, "Good, it's settled then. You've had the marriage license for a while now, but no wedding yet. I feel bad about it. Neither of you seemed in a hurry, so we've all been taking our time." "A lot of the arrangements are already in place," Elara reassured him.
The wedding was scheduled for late June, after the SATS. The weather would be warm then.
While others handled most of the planning, Elara found herself feeling unexpectedly nervous as the date drew closer.
She chuckled to herself. She'd been married for so long, but the idea of the wedding ceremony was suddenly making her
uneasy.
Steven said kindly, "Don't stress. Focus on your work. I'll help with anything that needs attention."
"Thank you, Steven. I'd better head out now," Elara said, grabbing her things and heading to work.
Once inside her car, she checked her phone and saw the latest updates about the Linde Group. It appeared that a resolution had been reached, thanks to Asher's intervention.
The public backlash had been so harsh that Asher's mother had retreated from the spotlight entirely, choosing to rest at
home.
When Elara arrived at the law firm, she spotted Adair and Asher,
Considering Asher had recently gotten married, Elara had expected him to be on his honeymoon. Yet here he was, as busy
as ever.
"Congratulations, Mr. Blackwood. Best wishes on your marriage Adair said.
It had been a while since Adair saw Asher since she had not visited the firm, though Asher had occasionally stopped by for work-related matters.
Now reunited, Adair couldn't resist teasing him.
Asher, unfazed by her tone, responded with a calm smile. "How have you been?"
