From Heartbreak to Happily Ever After Novel

Chapter 664

The streets of Flesta bustled with people as Debra slowly regained consciousness. She felt every bump as the vehicle sped along. The cold wind bit at her skin, making her shiver involuntarily.

When the two men sprayed her with the sedative carlier, she’d Instinctively held her breath. But she had still inhaled enough to knock her out for a while. Luckily, she wasn’t fully under and could still think straight.

The car rattled as it moved, and the sounds of traffic gradually faded, Indicating they were driving away from the city center. Soon, Debra caught the faint scent of saltwater, blowing in through the cracks in the

windows

Her heart raced as she wondered why they were taking her to the sea.

She tried to loosen the ropes binding her hands, but her eyes were covered, leaving her clueless about her surroundings. She heard one of the men speak up.

“It’s far enough. Should we stop here?”

“What a shame! She is pretty.”

The car came to an abrupt halt, and Debra forced herself to stay calm as they hauled her out of the

vehicle.

Her hands and feet were tightly bound, her mouth taped shut, and a blindfold covered her eyes. But the unmistakable sound of waves crashing against the shore told her they were at the same dock Drake and she had left the night before.

Lennox’s phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, he quickly answered, “Kale, why are you calling?

“Where the hell are you?”

“I’m handling a job. Right now, we’re at the dock.”

Before he could finish, the line went dead.

Gavin pointed at the phone and said, “Your phone died.

“Damn it,” Lennox cursed, stuffing the phone back into his pocket, “Forget it. Let’s toss her into the sea first. I’ll recharge my phone and call him back.”

Debra groaned, realizing they were planning to kill her.

As her mind was racing, she heard Lennox’s cold voice again.

“Alright, let’s get this over with.”

The two men lifted her off the ground, carrying her toward the shore. She felt the sand beneath her and heard the distant hum of a ship coming into port.

Just as they were about to throw her into the water, Debra began to thrash wildly.

Surprised that she was still conscious, they dropped her onto the sand. Pain shot through her back as she hit the ground hard, but she bit back a scream.

Lennox kicked her. “Stupid woman!”

Debra grunted, using the moment to feel around with her bound hands. Her fingers brushed against a shard of glass. It was from a broken beer bottle half–buried in the sand.

“I think she wants to say something.” Gavin remarked. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

“Of course, she does,” Lennox snorted, smacking his partner upside the head. “Hurry up and bag her before someone sees this.”

Debra managed to slice through the rope with the shard of glass. Just as Gavin leaned down to grab her, she lashed out, slamming her head into him.
