Chapter 753
Late into the night, the square was empty.
The mongrel, who had just wrapped his arm around Debra, quickly pulled away.
"Ms. Frazier, I didn't mean anything by that earlier. Please, don't go telling Marion."
"I know you didn't. Honestly, if it weren't for you, I'd still be stuck in there."
Just now, she had unexpectedly spotted William pacing outside the lounge. His appearance was good, but his accent was funny.
"Where's Marion? Has he come?"
"Oh, he's here. The moment he heard you were in trouble, he flew over and dragged me along. I had to push back several surgeries. Ms. Frazier, you should compensate me."
But the news made Debra anxious. She grabbed William's arm, her voice urgent.
"Where is he? You need to make him leave. Drake already has people ready to capture him."
"Marion loves you more than his life. Do you think he'll just leave? He guessed you'd try to get into the casino, so I've been posing as a businessman, gambling for days to keep an eye on things. Finally, you showed up. Let's get out of here. This place is a nightmare."
"Alright," Debra agreed at first, but then something made her pause. "Wait, Harland saw us leave together. He's probably already informed Drake. In less than twenty minutes, his men will be all over this place. We won't make it out in time."
"Then what do we do?" William asked, panic rising in his voice.
"The upper floors of the casino are definitely where they're hiding their criminal operations. I can't leave just yet," Debra said, her eyes narrowing with determination.
"But it's too dangerous. One wrong move, and..." William made a throat-slitting gesture.
"As long as Marion doesn't show up, Drake won't kill me. Since you're here, it means you've infiltrated this place, right?"
"Yeah, Marion came on his private
jet. Over the years, he's planted a lot
of people here," William said and paused. "Don't tell me you're planning to take down the entire Lowe family." en All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
"Why not?" Debra's gaze sharpened. "Listen to me. You need to get back to Marion and tell him to lay low for now. Have him rally all the
manpower and resources he can to gather evidence on the crimes of all the powerful families in Orkgate. I'll stay close to Drake and work from the inside. Once I have any information or clues, I'll get them to you."
"That's too dangerous." William's protest was cut short by the rumble of car engines roaring in the distance.
"There's no time. Go!" Debra urged, pushing him toward the street.
If William got caught, everything would be over.
He bit his lip, sprinted toward his car, and drove off.
Debra exhaled a shaky breath. As long as Marion stayed hidden, she would be safe.
