Chapter 218 Ambushed
I do not fear any man, let alone any Vampire.
But, and do I even wish to start, there is something that is staring me in the face that I have not anticipated to encounter tonight. What my dear old Vampire friend has seemed to acquire himself over the years is, in fact, a rare kind of Vampire that there is to tame.
So to say that I can fight my way out of this one to save my beloved and the rest of the group from a fate that they will soon face, well, I am purely outnumbered in this one. I can for certain say that my strength can gain me an advantage, but not when I will have so many coming at me at the same time.
Yet, I can, and it is with this very thought in mind, that I take my stance, ready to take on the first man that lays his hand on me. Though all I am staring at is a group of Vampires with bloodshot eyes standing next to their Master, waiting for him to give the sign that they can proceed to rain down on me.
But, I am starting to lean to the fact that they are not going to make a move unless I put up a fight of resistance if they are, in fact, intending to take me away from here.
Not seeing any move being made, I relax my stance only but a fraction as I stare at the man who believes that I fear him in the face. And as he speaks, I recall the voice of the man that I mocked that day when I killed both his brothers in front of his eyes, “Lucas, to what do I owe this displeasure of you being in my City?”
“Vladamir, is that how you greet an old friend?”
“Where I come from, Lucas, your friends do not sleep with your wife. But,” the man has the audacity to lean his head past my shoulder in the direction of my beloved, then as he speaks, “But I think I will have me a piece of that hot number in red.”
Now, my restraint does not, but only for such a brief moment to realize that it shall be a fatal mistake to let the man know that Cassidy is, in fact, my beloved, so I only but smirk at him, “That number in the red is hot with that dagger as well, I would be very careful if I were you.”
“Perhaps your beloved?”
“No, merely a youngling that recently joined our ranks. Now, what is the meaning of your intrusion?”
Well, there is only but a fit of hideous laughter that comes from his distasteful mouth as he focuses his attention on me once again, “You, my dear, Lucas…”
I burst out in my own fit of laughter as the urge to mock him overwhelms me to a far greater extent than my common sense, “You nearly said my dear friend, now would that not have been putting your foot in it. But please do go ahead and tell me what I am doing?”
“You,” this time, he growls with anger that boils over in his eyes. “You are the one that is intruding. What are you doing in my City?”
“Well, if you lean back over there and look past the red hot number, then you will notice…”
“Ah,” he only but not his head with a slight tremble in his voice this time, he speaks again. “You seem to have made friends with the Winchester boys?”
“Yes, and we are here on a hunt which you and your bloodsucker friends…” I pause for a brief moment and look at him with a slight cock of my head, “How have you managed to control a bunch of bloodlust Vampires?”
“Would you not love to know? Well, I am not here to give out secrets, so can you tell me what it is that you and the boys are hunting in my City?”
“Well, I am not here to give out secrets as well. Now, can you run along and leave the big fight for the big boys. I am sure your little pets must be hungry by now?”
With that, he steps forward two steps and finds himself directly into my space. And as he moves, so does the intimidating group of bloodlust Vampires move with him, closing around me in a circle. Closer and closer, they move until all I can feel is the bodies of seven Vampires and their Master pressing up against mine.
Well, I think I might have been wrong…
And who was not wrong is the man that I am now trying to reach at the top of my voice over this crowd.
“Dean!”
From in the distance behind me above the snarl and hissing that surrounds me, I can hear Dean at the top of his voice, “Fuck! Hold on, Lucas.”
But there is no holding on…
In one…
Two…
Three…
There is a pair of silver cuffs being snapped around my wrist from one side, and from the other, I can feel the tips of three daggers being pressed into my back. From the front, I have Vladamir with a wicked grin on his face looking at me, “Now, what type of host would I be if I did not take you to my humble home.”
Well, there is nothing humble about this man’s home from what I can recall, “You are making a big mistake, my friend. That hot little number will kill you if you take her Master. She is kind of really attached to me.”
But there is only a rumble of hideous laughter that comes from Vladamir’s mouth. Now the man has never been a pretty sight himself. He has rather offish grey-black hair that falls over his shoulders, with a face that is sunk in at the cheeks and rather bony in most places. The man seems, when you have a first glance at him, that he has not fed in days, yet this is the face this creature has been blessed with. Needless to say, taking his beloved was not very difficult at the time.
Pushing aside the fact that the man is ungodly ugly, he has me now surrounded by seven Vampires, three daggers, and a pair of silver cuffs. Not only am I helpless, but I am fairly outnumbered.
My power is useless.
And what else seems to be useless is the Winchester boys trying to come to my rescue.
So with one glance over my shoulder, I watch as Cassidy tries to break away from Roberto’s arms. Damien is trying his best to pull her back as she reaches towards me. Her agonizing screams scare me even more than what I am about to face.
And that thought leads me to give in without another inch of resistance against the group of seven that has managed to hold me firmly into place. The thing with a bloodlust Vampire, it does find himself with a bit more strength than a normal Vampire has. The human blood, and seeing that they consume more than usual, is what gives them the strength.
This strength is what holds me down until a few miles down the road, where there is a van parked on the side of the road. With two more bloodsuckers sticking their heads from it, I am forced into the back. There is the smell of dry blood and dead skin that comes off, radiating from the window and the door. This must be the way that they get the food around for these animals.
That begs the question, “Is all your Vampire…”
But I do not get to finish my question for next the fist of Vladamir comes crashing into my cheekbone; there is a great force behind his punch as I feel the skin split open and the blood starting to trickle from the open wound.
Now that is all I need…
In front of a bunch of bloodlust Vampires, I am finding myself bleeding. It does send the terror to my bones. I wish I had the time to warn the boys what they are going to come up against, but I am sure that they can handle a few little Vampires, that is, if they can get away from the ones that had already surrounded them.
But my other concern lies with what is about to happen between Cass and Breyden. For what it is worth, I hope that Cass kicks Breyden’s goddamn ass for putting us all into this. If I get out alive here and his ass finds himself alive, then I will fucking kill him myself.
So as we pull off onto the road, I can hear in the far distance as Cassidy’s voice come traveling at a few pitches loud. They must have gotten past the Vampire, or the Vampires had fallen back.
After, it is me that he wants.
