Chapter 217
Chapter 217
(Rose’s Pov)
I felt a sharp pain in my head, and winced as I tried to open my eyes. At first it felt almost impossible- like with every muscle, it seemed that my head was about to split.
It took a few moment before my eyes finally fluttered open.
The room was in a blur. I couldn’t focus on anything. I closed my eyes again and opened them, and slowly my sight got
better.
The first thing I saw clearly was Olivia’s face directly in front of mine.
She was bent forward just so her face could get to my level.
“Olivia,” I whispered. Myvoice sounded raspy and tired.
She rolled her eyes at me and straightened up “You are awake.” She said.
I tried to touch her, but a strange pressure on my wrist stopped me.
I looked down.
That was when I noticed that I sat on a chair, and my wrist and arms were securely tied to it with a thick rope.
I panicked and jerked my arm away, trying to cut the ropes.
Nothing worked.
“Don’t bother.” Olivia snapped. “Griffin made sure you won’t be able to get out of that.” She pointed at the rope.
“What…” I trailed off as my throat dried up. I swallowed hard and swiped my tongue over my poached lips.
“Do you have something to say?” Olivia smirked.
I sighed and nodded my head “What are you doing? What happened? Why am I here?” I remembered the last moments before I passed out. Olivia was smiling cruelly.
My heart stung. Was she the reason for this?
“Don’t you remember?” Olivia raised a brow.
“I do. You gave me a drink.” I said softly. “I took it. I drank it, and now, here I am.” I was trying hard not to believe what I had in mind. I needed to hear it straight from Olivia.
There was no way my own daughter would betray me. Was there?
I was taken aback when Olivia began to laugh hysterically. Her voice filled the room, and with every sound she made, my heart sank, and I began to lose hope.
“Tell me it wasn’t you.” I said
Olivia scoffed as she started calmly “I can’t believe you are my mother. I thought you would have been smart enough, but you weren’t. You walked right into my trap without any suspicions.”
“Olivia!” I frowned. “What is
wrong
with you?”
“I’m curious.” She began to walk in a slow circle around me. I followed her movement with my eyes as far as I could before she stopped behind me and leaned in to whisper in my ear.
“How could you have been stupid enough to believe that I would want to leave my father for… you?” She asked. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
I closed my eyes and bit my lip so hard I almost drew blood. Griffin had done a good job of making Olivia hate me completely.
I wondered if there was any hope that Olivia would come to believe me one day.
“I thought you needed me.” I said quietly.
“Need you?” Olivia laughed again.
“Yes. I thought I should save you since you wanted my help. I was scared of the kind of horrible things that Griffin might do to you.” I said.
Olivia sucked in her teeth sharply and hissed at me. “My father is a better parent than you ever were.”
She moved away from me and walked back to face me. “You made a big mistake coming here to save me. And you will know that very soon.”
“What do you mean?” I frowned.
She smiled, one side of her lip curling up. She had a sinister look on her face. I shivered.
“My father and Luna Belle have plans for you. It’s only a matter of time before you begin to regret coming here for me.” She said.
I frowned. It was obvious that Griffin and my ex–bestfriend must have a lot of things up their sleeves, and if I was going to save Olivia, I needed to know what their plan was.
“Listen to me, Olivia, we can still get out of here. We can escape and leave all this before it blows up on you. Griffin doesn’t care about you. He only wants to use you. Believe me.”
“Why should I?” Olivia asked. “And what about you? Do you care about me?”
“Yes, I do. I love you, Olivia.” I said quickly.
“Lies.” Olivia frowned.
There was a short pause before she continued.
“We know about Eros and Eden. I know that very soon, Eros will become the king, and Eden will be crowned queen.” She paced for a while and then stopped. “None of us want that to happen. My father will make sure that Eden will never become queen. Never.”
I raised a brow in surprise “What do you mean by that? Eden is your sister.” I snapped.
“Not completely.” Olivia pursed her lips. “You have no idea what we plan to do.”
“Eros will not allow you.” I said.
Eden’s hybrid mate was one of the most powerful creature I’ve ever seen, and I knew Griffin was no match for him. Griffin was nothing but a coward.
Olivia turned quickly and smiled. “That is what makes it so much fun. My father already formed a small group of people who will take him down.” She closed the space between us and leaned in, her nose almost touched mine.
Mon, Dec
“Even Alpha Theo and King Pison will be a part of this. Eros and is supporters stand no chance against them. We even have people on the inside, people Eros trusts with his life. One comand, and Eden will be killed in her sleep” Olivia laughed “Interesting, right?”
I shivered. Olivia looked nothing like the daughter I knew. She was insane.
1 gasped. “Why are you doing this?”
Olivia shrugged. “It has always been about Eden. The good daughter, the best daughter”
Was that what this was about? Jealousy?
I scoffed. “Olivia! You know what your sister has been through. Eden has had it rough in life.”
“Because she was rejected?” Olivia snapped. “That is nothing. She won’t be the first to face rejection. Yet, you gave all your attention to her and ignored me. At first, I was glad that at least she would get to know what it felt like to not be good enough to be loved like another… And just like that, she got a better mate Eros. A potential king! It’s like a fairytale for her.”
“You know that’s not true. I loved you both equally.” I said softly.
Olivia shrugged. “Whatever. But I want Eros to be mine. Not hers. I deserve to marry him and become the queen, not Eden.”
I was surprised. I never knew Olivia had such desires. She never showed it.
“This isn’t right, Olivia.” I said.
Being Alpha Griffin’s daughter is not enough. Because of you, because you became a whore, I cannot become his heir. It’s all your fault.” She smiled. “That is why you have to be a part of our plan. You are going to help me become queen.”
Before I could say another word, Olivia grinned wickedly and hit me in the head with a solid object. My head rang with a shooting pain, and I immediately fell into thick darkness.
