The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel)

MISTAKE 233

Chapter 233: Marcus Green,

"Doctor, why are we here? This is the VIP ward," she said cautiously. She became more certain that her 'husband' had woken up. Her mind raced when the doctor opened the doors and she saw the man laying on the hospital bed still seemingly unconscious, making her sigh in relief.

"I will find his attending doctor, you can wait here with him," the doctor said leaving her alone in the room. The doctor walked out and asked for a nurse to check the patient's files. When he saw the name written on the file, he hurried over to the top floor meeting room where a directors meeting was taking place and barged in.

"Marcus Green is in our hospital," he announced and several directors stood abruptly.

After the door shut behind her, Hazel approached the bed,

"Marcus, Marcus," she called lightly to see if he would wake.

"It seems he has not woken up," she looked at his still form, then looked around the room. If she had not walked into the hospital herself, she would have thought it was a hotel. It was richly decorated. She looked back at the man on the bed and frowned.

"What is the use of being handsome, I am this close to abandoning you," she muttered, are just lucky I am afraid of talking to the police,

"You

She went to the table by the corner and placed down what she had just bought in the supermarket. She then picked the small bowl she bought. Didn't rooms like this have their own bathroom or had she watched too much dramas? She looked around for the bathroom,

and soon found it. Hazel took some warm water from the tap and returned to her 'husband's

She wet the towel and rung it till it was slightly damp, then proceeded to use the warm water to clean his face and his neck where some traces of blood had dried on his pale skin. Not long after, the door opened an a doctor and nurse walked in.

"You are?" she asked.

"I am Doctor Elio. You must be Mrs. Green." the doctor introduced himself. Hazel was still

somewhat not used to his address so she cleared her throat.

"Yes, why did we move rooms without my knowledge?" she asked.

"The hospital is determined to give your husband the best of our facilities to facilitate his quick recovery. If you need anything more, Mrs Green, you only need to inform the nurse and we will be here to help," she was confused, but dared not let it show. The way they called her name made her think they most definitely knew that name. She regretted the last two hours greatly. Doesn't this mean that she could get caught in her lie? She nodded and thanked them.

"That is good then, I need to return to deal with some matters. I will be back tomorrow. Please

let me know if there is any change to his condition," she said and they agreed. She waited for them to leave before returning home. When she got home, she slept like a log

She woke up the next morning and hurried out work. She did not have much time to arrange her materials because she came home late the night before. She knew her editor, Mrs Levi would not scold her too much but she did not want to disappoint her, after all, she was the one who asked to take on this interview. So, she took the morning off to pursue her task. She met up with the appointments set to meet the CEO of Jonah Bank. She found that she was yet again, unlucky as he was in a meeting. But they were nice enough to set a new date, promising to that the next morning will definitely be set aside in his calendar. She finally got an official appointment.

Even though this pleased her, she had still not gotten the interview so, when she walked into the office, she was met with the sneer of Lucy Gruiel. Lucy had just come into work just like

her.

"Oh, isn't this Miss Greyson, how is your big client interview going?" she asked almost as though she knew it would fail.

"Don't worry about it too much. When I get that front page, you will sponsor me to dinner, right?" Hazel asked the a sickening smile.

"I would love to, so work hard, Okay?" Lucy said.

"We should both work hard, don't worry, Mrs Levi is seeing you hard work, even though you have not had much notable work in the past two years, you have been working hard and we had all seen it. Don't worry, you will get there," Hazel said with sincere eyes and walked to her

desk.

"You mock me, Hazel. It seems writing a few articles have gone to your head," Lucy walked after her and paused by her desk.

"I don't have the energy for you today, Lucy. I have expended all the energy I have for nonsense yesterday. If you taunt me, I will throw it back at you. If you have time to comment about my work, then find time to put the same energy into your articles then, you can stand on high ground and taunt me," Hazel snapped at her.

Lucy was frozen in shock. Is this the Hazel that would always be courteous no matter how many digs she took at her? She was not the only one. The enter office paused to watch the show. If anyone had told them that the soft spoke Hazel would one day snap, well, they would believe it. They are shocked she lasted this long taking Lucy's insults and plots with grace. But, they were still shocked she snapped this way.

"You dare? You dare talk to me like that?" Lucy asked.

"Look at words? You seem to be free enough to find trouble all the time but hate it when someone responds," the next moment, her phone rang and she picked it up in anger.

"Yes?" she answered rudely..

"Is this Mrs Green, Tam calling from Castle hospital. Your husband has woken up," the behind the phone said and her eyes widened in shock. she dropped everything and hurried out, leaving behind the paused office. It would soon be her break, so she decided use the time to settle the matters at the hospital.

She arrived at the hospital quickly and rushed to the VIP wing. She paused at the door to take a few breaths and arrange her thoughts before cautiously opening the door to peek into the room at the man on the bed. He put down the magazine he was holding and rested his eyes on

her.

"Please come inside, Dear Wife," he said to her frozen form.

Marcus stared at the woman frozen by the door with interest. He had not thought that he would wake up in the hospital one day, with a wife. His eyes trailed across her brown shoulder length hair to her face. Hazel straightened out and walked into the room. She had only stepped in when a Doctor Elio walked in with an army of doctors. Their entrance overwhelmed her. "Mrs. Green, you have arrived," Dr Elio greeted Hazel the moment he walked in and the army of doctors behind followed suit. They were so respectful that Hazel was not sure how to react, so she fell into her subconscious blank face; an expression she carries when she is under

pressure.

"Mr Green is recuperating just fine. He will need to be here for a while so that we can watch him, but his is all round just fine," Doctor Elio addressed her.

"I see,

"Hazel responded vaguely, "His injuries won't affect his life will it?" she asked.

“No, he is set to make a full recovery," Dr Elio answered and she nodded.

"Thank you," she said and they all slowly left the room. Soon, only she and Marcus were left inside.
