Chapter 2368
"Theoretically, no." Bella spoke confidently, tilting her head slightly and tapping her forehead with a delicate finger. "A prisoner on medical parole wouldn't draw much attention, but if they disappeared or died, it would certainly cause a commotion. They wouldn't go to such extreme measures unless it was absolutely necessary. So Clarice must have found a place to hold Jonah captive."
She paused and added, "Now that we have the license plate number, finding him will be much easier."
At exactly 3:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Salvador Corporation, a crucial meeting concerning the bidding plan for the Savrow A5 project was held. Every board member was in attendance.
After all, this project was critical for the future of the Salvador Corporation, as well as the interests of each board member and major shareholder.
Gregory, as the chairman of the board, began with an opening speech.
Justin, well-built and poised, sported a sharp suit. As the vice chairman of the board and the heir to the Salvador Corporation, he was seated on Gregory's left side, a position of great power. His rise to this position had not been easy.
When Justin arrived, he could not help but notice that something seemed off. The chair to Gregory's right was empty.
A strange, uncomfortable sensation rose within Justin's chest. His large hand, resting on the table, subconsciously clenched into a fist, the veins bulging visibly, and his temples throbbed, feeling a mix of pressure, pain, and restlessness.
These past few days, his chronic headache had worsened, along with other symptoms such as body tremors and chills.
Countless nights, Justin had endured this torment, relying on adrenaline and sheer willpower to get through until dawn.
So, before this meeting, he had taken the medication again. This time increasing the dosage just to keep his condition under control.
When Gregory finished his speech, Justin lowered his gaze and opened the A5 project plan in front of him, preparing to present it.
"Justin, wait a moment," Gregory suddenly called out.
Justin's heart skipped a beat. At the same time, the door to the conference room slowly opened.
Everyone turned to look in surprise as a tall, elegant figure walked in, exuding a calm and refined presence. With a smile, the man greeted the room.
"My apologies for being late, directors."
Justin froze, his gaze locking onto the approaching man-Grant. His black lashes fluttered, and his fingers, previously steady on the plan, once again tightened into a fist.
In full view of everyone, Grant walked over, passing by Justin.
Justin faintly caught a subtle fragrance in the air.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Even though they did not make any physical contact or exchange glances, Justin could not shake the coldness that spread across his neck and seeped into his limbs.
Grant stood beside Gregory; the father and son exchanged a look. Gregory wore a wide, joyous smile, his large hand patting his eldest son's shoulder, his pride and high expectations radiating.
It was as if he had forgotten that his other son was still present.
At this moment, all of Gregory's attention was on Grant.
"Mr. Grant suddenly barges in. What's the meaning of this?" The directors whispered among themselves.
"Can't you tell from Chairman Salvador's expression? His heart is clearly with the eldest son!"
"But right now, Mr. Justin holds power in the Salvador Corporation. It's hard for two suns to coexist. Not to mention, Mr. Grant's health..."
"I don't see any problem. He looks strong and quick on his feet, even more agile than I am!"
Gregory coughed twice, bringing the room back to silence.
Then, with a beaming smile, he announced. "Everyone, before we formally begin the meeting, there's one more matter to address today. Grant-my eldest son-has returned after completing his studies abroad. Now that everything is in place, after much consideration, I have decided to bring him into the company as a member of the board to help us further strengthen the Salvador Corporation!"
